A proposal for a Transit Oriented Development that respects the fabric and desires of the neighborhood while seizing the opportunity to build much needed housing and services on a vastly underutilized site.

 

Featured in this design is a reconfigured BART station, an underground parking garage to replace a percentage of the existing surface parking, a quick service grocery store for commuters, a Montessori School (relocated from just a few blocks away), affordable housing of medium to low density, a bridging of a gap in the current Ohlone Greenway, and a re-imagined Birdland community jazz club.
